Number 87 Josh Postell grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and played football on the Therrell High School team.

Josh Postell was a talented three-sport athlete. He was sixth in the triple jump at the 2008 Georgia State championship meet. In 2007, he was one of the choices for the team's Most Valuable Field Event Athlete. On the basketball team, Josh Postell won the the Varsity’s Most Valuable Basketball Player Award. And on the football squad, Josh Postell was both tight end and wide receiver and in two seasons he caught a combined 45 catches for 476 yards.

Apart from athletics, Josh Postell worked hard to be a strong force academically as well. He never missed a day of school and ranked in the top 10 percent of his class.

In 2009, Josh Postell was on the Florida Gators scout team but did not see action.
