More Info
Number 63 Cole Gilliam is from Valrico, Florida, a town of approximately 6500 on the western part of Florida. Down in that region, he played for Durant High School under the coaching of Mike Gottman, primarily at the position of offensive tackle. He was a three-year starter starting his sophomore season with the team and during his junior and senior years, Cole Gilliam served as team captain.
Due to his strong playing abilities, Cole Gilliam was a first team all-conference player and a first-team all county for two consecutive seasons. Back in his junior year, he was also second-team all-state. All that playing took a toll on Cole Gilliam's body, though. Immediately following his senior season on the squad, he underwent shoulder surgery and took months to recover.
After graduating in 2009, Cole Gilliam joined the Florida Gators football team. He practiced hard and suited up for 5 games but did not see any playing time. Off the field he worked toward a major in criminology.
