Charlie Strong is the defensive coordinator, linebackers coach and the assistant head coach for the University of Florida Gators football program. Coach Strong has been at the University of Florida since the 2002 season. His strong defensive experience and unique coaching style have gained him respect from not only his players but also the other NCAA coaches he has worked with and faced on the field. In 2004 Charlie Strong was appointed interim Head Coach for the Peach Bowl, making him only the 2nd African-American to be the head coach in SEC history.

Florida Gator’s Coach Charlie Strong started his coaching career as a graduate assistant in Florida and then at Texas A&M, he then moved to Southern Illinois, Notre Dame and South Carolina, intermittently returning to Florida for various coaching positions.
